It was the fall of 2019, and I hosted a quilting workshop in my home. A simple patchwork pattern, built on color and intuition. Each person chose their own palette—some bold, some soft, all unique.
The room buzzed with possibility. My fabric stash became a treasure trove as everyone dug through, hemming and hawing over just the right shades. We talked color theory, cut, sewed, pinned, quilted… and finished.
It was electric. I was hooked. I wanted more of this. More workshops. More making. More of the unexpected magic that happens when creativity collides.
And then—one late night, scrolling Facebook Marketplace when I should have been sleeping
Boom. There it was.
A quilt shop, closing its doors, its future uncertain. But the future wasn’t set in stone… was it?
I walked in and bought it all. Fabric, buttons, zippers—the whole works. The date was March 1, 2020.
I couldn’t have known what was coming. The world was about to shift in ways no one saw coming. But in that moment, all I saw was possibility. A new dream. A creative future waiting to be stitched together.
And so it began.
