Sew pairs of strips right sides together. Sew sets together into a continuous block that is larger than your final block size. Make sure the first and last strip are not the same fabric. Add extra strips if necessary. Press seams right, left, right, etc. Trim all edges to make a rectangle.
Using your seam ripper, unpick one seam, and open the strip. Holding the next strip, find the bottom fabric of the first strip, and unpick the seam on top of it, so that the bottom fabric from the first strip becomes the top fabric on the second strip. Repeat, until all strips are opened.

No, you do not need to bring a sewing machine. Please let me know if you will or will not be bringing your own machine so I have space for everyone.
I will be teaching the basics. You do not need to know how to sew, how to select fabrics, or how to use the tools before you arrive. This is a learning zone for everyone! Even experienced quilters walk away with a new skill.
